Advancing NSDL and Assessment Resources

In newly funded work, Project 2061 will draw on its expertise in evaluating how closely curriculum and assessment resources are aligned to K-12 science standards. With a grant from NSF’s National Science Digital Library program, Project 2061 is training staff of Pathways digital libraries to identify high-quality resources. Project 2061 is also collaborating with WestEd on studies that investigate aspects of technology-enhanced assessment.

Atlas of Science Literacy Translated into Chinese

Think it’s a challenge to keep track of all the connections among learning goals on maps in your copy of Atlas? Try translating those maps into Chinese. Thanks to the China Association for Science and Technology and China’s Popular Science Press, Atlas 1 is now available in Chinese.

Get a New View of Science Literacy: Join an Atlas Workshop in 2009

Plan ahead for 2009 by registering for one of Project 2061's “Using Atlas of Science Literacy” workshops:

• March 2–4 at AAAS headquarters in Washington, DC
• September 14–16 at the Museum of Life + Science in Durham, NC
• October 19–21 at AAAS headquarters in Washington, DC

To achieve that goal, Project 2061 conducts research and develops tools and services—books, CD-ROMS, on-line resources, professional development, and public outreach—that educators, researchers, parents and families, and community leaders can use to make critical and lasting improvements in the nation’s education system.
